May 20, 2025 (Enid, OK) — The City of Enid and Jiffy Trip are proud to announce a new public-private partnership that will bring a vibrant downtown park and state-of-the-art outdoor amphitheater to life just south of Park Street. This joint development is part of a larger economic revitalization initiative designed to breathe new life into the heart of Enid. As part of the project, Jiffy Trip will construct a new prototype store that blends modern design with community-centered amenities, further spurring investment in the Downtown Enid corridor.
This initiative is a major step toward fulfilling a decades-long vision to enhance the gateway into Downtown Enid. “For decades, we’ve worked toward improving the first impression visitors and residents experience when entering our downtown,” said Mayor David Mason. “This partnership is a bold step forward that aligns with our community’s goals for growth, beauty, and long-term economic strength.” With the addition of this development, the City anticipates more than doubling the sales tax revenue generated from the properties involved.
City Manager Jerald Gilbert emphasized the importance of the public-private model in moving large-scale projects forward. “Collaborations like this allow us to accelerate progress while being responsible stewards of public funds,” said Gilbert. “The projected growth in sales tax revenue will directly benefit Enid residents, helping fund key services and future infrastructure investments.” The City will soon be soliciting feedback from the community to gather input on features and programming that would make this new park “our Scissortail Park.”
Alex Williams, President of Jiffy Trip, shared his enthusiasm about contributing to Enid’s future. “We’re excited to invest in Downtown Enid and continue building on the momentum we’ve created together with The District and The One,” said Williams. “This new park, amphitheater, and prototype store represent our shared belief in the power of local partnerships to transform communities. We believe this is just the beginning of even greater things to come.”
